– Varun Chaudhary: Thank you for your kind words. My journey into the business world began with my father, who laid the essential groundwork for our noodle manufacturing company. His hard work and visionary approach allowed the business to grow significantly, expanding its reach within Nepal and internationally. Witnessing his success across diverse industries like hospitality, food, and real estate inspired me and opened my eyes to the vast potential that business holds on a global scale.
Growing up, I was fortunate to have the unique privilege of observing my father’s entrepreneurial journey up close. It felt like attending a real-life business school, where I was immersed in the practical lessons of diligence, perseverance, and the simplicity of effective strategies. Through these experiences, I learned that success is driven not just by knowledge but also by the right attitude, a strong work ethic, and the insight gained through experience. One of the most critical lessons my father consistently emphasized was the importance of time management when overseeing a growing enterprise. This skill remains invaluable in today’s fast-paced business environment.
What do you think are the key factors that have contributed to your success in expanding the brand Wai Wai globally?
– Varun Chaudhary: A primary factor is our comprehensive understanding of diverse markets, combined with the leadership of a strong and cohesive team. For example, the Indian market presents immense opportunities due to its large consumer base. However, we recognize that each market possesses unique characteristics and cultural nuances. Therefore, adapting our products to align with local tastes and preferences is critical for sustained success. Our initiatives in countries such as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan serve as case studies in this approach, demonstrating our ability to effectively cater to local culinary traditions and dietary needs. By customizing our food offerings, we ensure that we resonate meaningfully with our diverse consumer base, enhancing brand loyalty and market penetration.
Operating in over 50 countries, we implement tailored strategies considering specific local market dynamics, regulatory environments, and consumer behavior. This localized approach enables us to respond effectively to changes in business and market trends.
How would you describe the Serbian business environment in terms of opportunities and challenges? Does it align with your vision for future growth?
-Varun Chaudhary: Serbia, strategically located at the crossroads of Europe, has immense growth potential. The opportunities here are abundant and largely untapped for investors, making it a promising horizon for future expansion. The Balkans, as a whole, are still in the early chapters of a compelling narrative, and Serbia stands proudly at the forefront of this unfolding story.
We opened our first noodle factory in Ruma, Serbia, in 2017. Since then, the company has seamlessly integrated into the local culture, market dynamics, and community, a testament to the country’s welcoming environment. The people here have been incredibly supportive, and their openness has been instrumental in our success and expansion.
We are eager to build on this foundation as we look to the future. There’s room for more—Serbia’s market is not yet saturated with global brands, creating a window for further development.
How do you balance your personal life with your professional commitments, especially when juggling different markets and businesses?
– Varun Chaudhary: As an entrepreneur, I believe that my career is not separate from my personal life—it’s an integral part of it. Whether personal or professional, everything aligns when you stay focused on your goals and keep striving, no matter the time of day. I believe in setting clear priorities and dedicating quality time to my family. It’s about being present in the moment, whether in a business meeting or at a family dinner. This balance is essential for holistic well-being.
Do you enjoy fashion and style, and how does it play a role in your life?
– Varun Chaudhary: Absolutely—I do enjoy fashion and style. For me, it’s an extension of who you are. The way you present yourself speaks before you even say a word. I’ve always believed that style doesn’t have to be loud—it just needs to be authentic.
Fashion, in many ways, is also a form of storytelling. Like building a brand, it’s about consistency, attention to detail, and knowing your identity. And, of course, I enjoy a good pair of well-tailored suits.
