When did you realize that fashion became a part of your identity?

Fashion has always been more than just clothing for me; it’s a language of
self-expression,” I reflect, tracing my awareness back to my formative years studying
Fashion and Design Management in Milan. Growing up in a multicultural environment,
with roots in Sweden, I quickly learned that our choice of attire communicates more
than just personal taste. It’s a reflection of our inner selves, our values, and the myriad
influences that shape us. From the sleek design aesthetics of Sweden to the dynamic
fashion scenes of Milan and New York, each place left an indelible mark on my
understanding of fashion. “Fashion isn’t just about trends; it’s a language through which
we express ourselves,” I remark, reflecting on my journey of self-discovery through style.
“Whether it’s the minimalist elegance of Scandinavian design or the bold statements of
high fashion runways, every piece of clothing carries a story, a message about who we
are and what we stand for.”

Who or what influenced the development of your style the most?

The fashion capitals of New York, Milan, and Paris heavily influenced the development
of my style. Cultural differences from my upbringing in Sweden to traveling the world
absolutely marked an influence, as I got to witness firsthand how self-expression
through clothing differs across cultures. Immersing myself in their vibrant fashion
scenes inspired me to cultivate my unique aesthetic. My style has been shaped by
countless influences, from the timeless elegance of Italian craftsmanship to the eclectic
energy of New York street style. Additionally, my upbringing in Sweden instilled in me an
appreciation for clean lines and understated elegance, which continues to influence my
fashion choices today.

What is your favorite piece of clothing that you own?

Smiling as I reflect on my wardrobe, filled with a diverse array of styles and influences,
among the many pieces I adore, there’s one that holds a special place in my heart: my
beloved jeans. Jeans have always been more than just clothing to me; they’re a symbol
of timeless style and cultural resonance. They’ve traversed through eras, from the iconic
Levi’s 501 of my youth to the modern allure of brands like 7 For All Mankind. Regardless
of trends, jeans remain a steadfast companion in my fashion journey, effortlessly
blending comfort and sophistication. What I particularly love about them is their
versatility. Whether I’m jetting off to Milan or exploring the streets of New York, my jeans
are always packed in my suitcase. They’re my go-to choice, no matter the destination or
occasion, a constant presence in my travels and adventures. Alongside my cherished
jeans, I pair them with sleek stilettos and an array of dazzling accessories, each piece
reflecting my unique sense of style and enduring fashion sensibilities.

How much has your style of clothing changed from your student days till today, and is there any basis left that is still a part of your clothing today?

Over the years, my style has undergone a significant evolution. During my student days, I
embraced experimentation and creativity, constantly pushing the boundaries of
conventional fashion. However, as my career progressed, I found myself gravitating
towards a more refined and polished aesthetic. Despite these changes, the spirit of
individuality and self-expression cultivated during my youth, influenced by my Swedish
upbringing, remains a guiding principle in my clothing choices today.

How does your career align with your clothes, and do you have to make certain
concessions in that field?

As a leader, working in the tech industry, I’ve learned to balance fashion with
professionalism. While my career may not always demand haute couture, dressing with
confidence and authenticity is essential in any professional setting, whether it be jeans
and stilettos or a pair of funky sneakers. I believe that style is a powerful tool for
expression, communication, and approachability. It allows anyone to convey a bit about
who they are and their creativity.

Tell me your definition of style.

For me, style is more than just the clothes we wear; it’s an attitude, a reflection of who
we are at our core. Coco Chanel’s timeless words, “The best outfit a woman can wear is

her smile,” resonate deeply with me. They encapsulate the essence of style as a
multifaceted expression that extends far beyond the fabric we drape ourselves in.
Style is the embodiment of personality, confidence, and inner beauty, with clothing
serving as the medium through which we express ourselves. While garments play a role
in this expression, it’s the genuine smile that truly speaks volumes. It’s the ultimate
accessory that completes any outfit and radiates authenticity.
Authenticity lies at the heart of style—it’s about embracing our true selves and
celebrating our individuality without reservation. It’s a joyful celebration of diversity and
a bold declaration of self-expression without boundaries.
In essence, style is a silent language, a reflection of our innermost selves projected onto
the world stage. Each outfit becomes a chapter in the narrative of our lives, weaving
together moments of joy, confidence, and self-discovery. And at the center of this
narrative is the most compelling chapter, always written with a genuine smile.
